Feeling Restless?

Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) is a neurological condition that includes individuals experiencing abnormal sensations in the legs and feet. Some may feel burning, stinging, sharper pains, or other strange sensory information.

This discomfort can make it hard to sleep, watch films, or take long trips. Some physicians may prescribe muscle relaxers or other medications, but there is no current cure, and some medications do make it worse.

There is no direct cause of RLS, though it is common in individuals who are pregnant, taking certain medications, have chronic illness, or have Parkinson’s disease. There has been recent research that uncovered a link between RLS and iron deficiency, so making sure to take the appropriate supplements is key.

Sensory conditions are often as a result of a nervous system malfunction. If your body is a television, symptoms and conditions are static that is caused by misalignment. Many people find relief through chiropractic as it realigns the spine and allowing for a healthy nervous system, bringing the right channel into focus.

Dr. Ben at the Chiropractic & Physical Therapy Center is a great choice as a chiropractor who is board eligible in functional neurology. He focuses on the intricate ways in which the nervous system affects the brain, and therefore can truly understand the ways in which the nervous system is affected by misalignment.
