2018 Health Checklist!

The end of the year crept up on us so quickly, where did the time go? You don’t need a new year, new you, but it is never too early to start you new year’s resolutions, and you can start by considering your end of the year health checklist!


 

Are you drinking enough water?
 

Staying well hydrated is the key to a healthy you, so make sure you’re drinking water throughout the day! The amount of water you drink is dependent on your age, weight, activity level, and even medications you are taking, but a quick test is to check and see how your lips, skin, and cuticles are doing. Are they dry, even with some lotion or lip balm? Time to drink up! Set some timers throughout the day to knock back a glass or two!

Are you getting enough sleep?
 

Contrary to popular belief, sleep is not for the weak. Good sleep hygiene can keep you moving through the day! Adults need an average of 6-8 hours of sleep per day, more if you’re healing from injury or illness! Make sure you put your screens down at least half an hour to an hour before bed, or install a blue light filter!

Are you taking your vitamins?
 

Vitamin deficiencies can cause discomfort, and keep you feeling stressed or overwhelmed. Making sure you take your daily vitamins is a great way to keep your body from feeling run down, and keep it running at peak performance.

Are you moving your body enough?
 

The best way to keep in touch with your body is to move it! Moving your body helps you understand it better, what it likes and dislikes, where it hurts, and what it wants. Find ways to move your body every day. What exercises do you like? Instead of making that grocery run from the car in one trip, make it in multiples!

Are you sitting up straight?
 

If you’re slouching or slumping throughout the day that can put a lot of pressure on your spine, and on your immune system! Don't forget that chiropractic can help relieve that pressure, and a chiropractor can give you exercises to give you the right posture!
